About the artist: My sculptures are abstract and manual, interpretations of ideas and events that are personally emotive and interesting. The work explores positive and negative shapes, colour and light, silhouette and shadow through the welded connection of individual steel components in a lyrical and playful composition. “The Garden of Serenity” is a continuation of ideas inspired by time spent documenting the Bendigo Cemetery, observing our drought intolerant gardens, the passions raised by our current water shortage and the remains that supplied the exhibition title.
